I bought a gently used (I think, anyway) left hand Weatherby .300, Mk V, Japanese made model.

Wood is in fabulous shape, barrel and action appear to be as well. Bore is very bright, muzzle crown looks good.

Haven't put a gauge on trigger, but feels smooth and fairly light.

Anyway, I'm trying to mount a Trijicon Ten Mile scope, 56 objective, 34 mm tube.

Got the scope from Eurooptics.

Tried to find a base and rings at Cabelas and a couple other sources locally. No luck.

So I called Eurooptic back, they are shipping a Talley abse and tall rings they believe will work.

Only other base I've put on a Weatherby was on a Howa Vanguard, and my now sadly deceased gunsmith did it.

Any tips would be appreciated. Gun smiths, esp. good ones, are few and far between here.

Mounted, with some help thanks to Huntsman66... Talley base, tall rings.

Eye relief right at 3" at 4.5-10 power. The scope is heavy, and its added weight makes this rifle a not-uncomfortable shooter. No mistaking it for a .223 or 5.56. But one mistake it for a very lightweight .308 or .30-06 with a 180 grain or heavier bullet.

Trigger breaks around 3.5##.

Barrel still has some life. Sighted in at 102.6 yards, down a 5-7 degree slope, Weatherby/Barnes TTSX. Final two shots once zeroed were .80, appox? Windy, but not crazy wind.
Why not three shots? Or five? Seems my days of getting .300 Wby at Cabelas for $49/69 a box appear to be long gone. Now I can't find it in any local store, and price has gone WAY up. But I'll take it to local flat range for fun and see what it will do.

Sighted in with Caldwell rock tripod and rear bag off my truck bed. Not best option, but OK until I build a bench rest at our place.
