mossberg mav 308? ideas, suggestions?

i have a friend looking to sell a mossberg maverick 308 bolt action rifle. he is only asking 250 with a bushnell elite 3200(not sure of the power) and i will definately buy the rifle because the scope is at least worth it. im not familiar with mossberg and im not sure if this is a decent gun. i would only use it for hunting hog and deer within 200 yards. not really a lrh rig but the people here seem like they are knowledgeable and familiar with these types of things. is this a decent rifle/action? or is it pretty much a piece of junk?
