This morning is opening morning of gun went to push from safe to fire and safety was really stiff then I end up with this. Not happy beyond all hell but stuff happens I get that. I'm thinking wood swelling pushing against safety ?? Any input would be great , thank you

I don't reckon any guesses will be be substantiated for sure till you open her up.
Take the action out of the stock and try the safety (unloaded).

Some time ago I attended a DU trap - Skeet - tower shoot. I was watching two gentleman shot the tower: one shot going low - one shot going up. You shoot this quickly for the required number of shots. Both were shooting high end over-under shotguns, one being a sliver engraved Krieghoff. This shooter had a 'jam' trying to open the action. He used his knee to assist in breaking open the SG. When he did a 3 inch section of the stock by the rear of the action broke off and fell to the ground. I imagine that it was a $5,000 piece of wood.

Sorry for your stock. Crap happens.

Good Luck
