Does anyone have information on which model 70 Winchesters are not controlled round Feed? Which M70 would be worth buying and which would not??

1936 to 1963, then beginning around 1994, Winchester began using Classic to indicate a pre-64 controlled round feed style action.

All newer models made by Browning are CRF, I have a few and they are very well finished, but I also have some mid 90's built Classic Stainless models and a Super Grade, which aren't quite up to todays finishing but work very well and I prefer those triggers too.
Late 90's to mid 2000's are models I would avoid, have seen barrels not true to boreline, eccentric cut barrel shoulders and very bad fitting on those. It wasn't just a couple either, whole batches of rifles appeared to be sent out without ANY QC. These were seen coming through my business. Also, many that were supposed to have been bedded, didn't have anything in the stocks at all. The plastic stocks were junk anyway.

Cheers.
