Model 7 vs. Model 700

What's the difference between the model 7 and 700? How is it different from a short action 700? Thanks

I can tell you from bedding one for my son's rifle that the rear action screw is so close to the trigger that I had to fabricate a pillar out of tubing. The diameter of a normal pillar is too large unless a relief could be machined into it for the trigger. I also believe the barrel tenion is shorter than on a 700.

The Model 7 is shorter than the SA Rem 700. It is the same length as the XP-100 and 600 actions.
