Quick question, I keep hearing the terms optical zero and mechanical zero being used interchangeably. Aren't they different things? Mechanical zero refers to the internal adjustment range for elevation and windage being centered so as to provide the most adjustability. From what I can gather, optical zero is aligning the reflection of the reticle image with the actual reticle using a mirror. Are these two things the same? What is the significance of optical zero?
