I have a very nice McMillan G-30 Tactical Hunter custom rifle in 243 Win for sale..!!
I am only selling to put money aside for a potential mini-safari in Africa next year. As some of you know I'm a Navy Reservist who was recently notified of a 1-year recall to Djibouti (near Ethiopia and Somalia), starting in April.
The rifle itself weighs approximately 7 pounds and is extremely accurate. It was featured in Bob Beck's Extreme Outer Limits. Here is a video of the rifle shooting 6 rounds at 1/4 MOA, starting at time counter 13:05: [ame=http://vimeo.com/70828368]EOL403 - High Country Wyoming Bull Elk – Part 1 of 2 on Vimeo[/ame]. As you can see, the rifle shoots 87 grain Berger VLDs VERY well, at 3200 fps. Load data will be provided.
Less than 160 rounds have been fired through the rifle. It has been used on zero hunts, although Bob Beck told me he used the rifle to target rock chucks at 1000 yards during a filming.
This rifle alone sells new for $6,415 plus shipping.
I will sell mine for $5,500 shipped in the original hard case from McMillan WITH:
.......... (1) a mint Nightforce 5.5-22x56mm HS ZS HV.5 Velocity 1000 illuminated rifle scope,
.......... (2) NF Ultralite rings,
.......... (3) a top half with bubble cap,
.......... (4) 100 rounds of this rifle's pet Berger 87 gr VLD ammo custom loaded by Copper Creek (a $266.26 value) and
.......... (5) a Nightforce Scope Mounting Torque Wrench pre-set to 68"/lbs (an $87 value).
This is a great buy. The whole setup retails for over $9K.
Talk about a blast playing with this 243 at 1000!
Other details...
Action: McMillan G30 short action. Barrel threads and the chamber are cut to critical tolerances and fit by hand. The barrel axis is perfectly in line with the bolt axis. The bolt face and action face are perpendicular to the barrel axis. The action is pillar-bedded into the stock and the barrel is free-floated. All dimensions are held to competition benchrest standards. Recoil lugs are surface ground on both sides and pinned to the receiver to produce a perfectly square mating between the action face and the barrel shank.
Stock: McMillan Tactical Hunter, McMillan EDGE ultralight graphite technology, Pillar glass bedding, free floated barrel, 1" Pachmayr Decelerator, 13.5" Length of pull, 1" Sling swivels
Barrel: Match grade Lilja stainless steel, 22", #5 taper, fluted, Target crown
Floorplate: One-piece machined aluminum hinged
Sights: Drilled and tapped for scope, premium McMillan 20 MOA rail included
Rifle weight: 7 lbs to 7 lbs. 4oz.
Caliber: 243 Win
Twist: 1x10
Finish: Receiver matte black finish with NP3 bolt and black textured stock
Case: McMillan travel case with rollers included
Other remarks: Jewell trigger, custom one-piece machined alumiinum hinged floorplate
Original price of rifle alone: $6,415
Scope: Nightforce 5.5-22x56mm HS ZS HV.5 Velocity 1000 (illuminated) with NF Ultralite rings, and a top half with bubble cap. This all retails for $2204. The scope is a dead on reticle match for the 87 grain Berger VLD in this rifle. But for mounting the scope is NEW.
This rifle is posted for sale on another forum. First in time wins!
Thanks,
Eric
