I thought you all might think my experience would be interesting.
Just used my V3 for the first time today.
1.I set the bayonet between 1/8" & 1/4" below bottom of bullet path.
2. I strapped it on just behind my muzzle brake.
I shot my first two shots and got no reading.
I took .125" of spacers out and shot again..no reading.
The spacer goes back in and I check tightness of bayonet...still tight.
I changed the sensitivity from normal to high. I shoot again, no reading!
I start going through the menu some more and find a battery menu.
I was using 2 CR123 batteries and find out my V3 is programmed for the 9 volt battery. I change it to R123 battery option and shoot... no reading.
Then I notice a battery power meter. I open it up and see that the 2 CR123 batteries are outputting 5.6 volts. I switch batteries and put in a 9 volt. I check the output of the 9 volt and it is 8.6 volts.
I decide to try shooting with the 9 volt. I switch the battery setting to 9 volt and shoot...
EUREKA!!
It reads every time for all remaining shots of the day.
I had just purchased the CR123's for my shoot. I am not sure what the minimum output is needed to get readings, but it must be higher than 5.6 volts!
