luppy compact 3-9 or III in 2.5-8 ?

i have a 2.5 to 8 on my .338 mag presently and really like the set up.
so i have experience with this luppy model.

i am about finished with a lightweight 300 wsm, but have no experience with the 3-9 compact luppy model.

you know ounces are ounces... the compact being lighter, but am i sacrificing field of view, optical clarity, etc... for lighter weight over a 2.5 - 8 ??

all of you that have experience with both, steer me in the right direction as to which to get and why ,,, please !

Skip the compact. It's largely crap. I'd roll a 6x42 with an ele turret on top.
