Anyone have a good load to start with for a 7 SAUM? I bought one off of classifieds here that's unfired. I have brass and plenty of 175 and 180 Berger Hybrids. Just looking for somewhere to start.

I break in my my brass with 60 grains of H1000 (100-150 pieces) before I start load development. During this time I determine the best seating depth. Shooting 180 Hybrids you will probably end up somewhere around 65 grains of H1000. I'm getting 2930 fps with the 180 Hybrids and 65.4 grains of H1000 in a 22 inch barrel from Dallas. You couldn't have a gun from a better builder. I'm holding .3 MOA out to 750 yards so far. There may be some faster powders out there but I love H1000 😉

My 180s are .030 off the lands. Seems to be fairly close to that every time. I run rl23 though. But assuming it's a long action I'd agree with the 64-65 range with h1000. You shouldn't have a hard time making it shoot. I've also run 175s, oddly load was .1 grain below my 180 load as well.

Idk what the freebore is or if there is one. I am so darn busy with working full time and farming. I barely have time to shoot so I'm sorry if this seems like I am taking shortcuts. Here's the build data for the rifle.

Defiance Anti XM Action
Bartlein #3 spiral fluted 25 inches
Threaded 9/16-24
Trigger Tech Special
Mesa Precision Stock

@Elk Hunter 338 can probably give you a load that he has had luck with in his 7saums.

I'm sure he does have an idea but I don't really want to bug him with it. The person that had rifle built didn't pay for load development so I don't want to really press the issue. Dallas is a great builder but a busy man.

Thanks to all of you who've offered suggestions.

2.284" CBTO @ 0.004" into lands
Works in 3 rifles at .3 moa or better

ADG (Same reamer as above) This load has worked on I know 6 different rifles with 8.0 twist Proof barrels. I'm guessing it's a sweet load for the proof 8 twist barrels. Go figure. Almost identical to load above.
