I have three guns that I am going to reload for. .338 Lapua, .300win mag, and .308 what powder would be good for all three? Is there one?. I have been loading my .338 with IMR 7828 and I can hit at 500 yards. I am wondering because I want to go to retumbo but I don't see any loads for retumbo in 308 in any of my books. I have heard a lot of good things about retumbo that is why I bring it up. But I am open to suggestions.

7828 will work for both magnums bot fall rather short in the 308. That one needs 4895, rl15, or varget, but a smattering of other powders like ballc2 will do well too. The lapua and 300 win can both use retumbo.

That's a pretty tall order to fill.

It just depends on whether you want to blow up milk jugs at 100 yds, or have 3x long range precision rifles/loads.

I'm using Retumbo in my 338LM and 300WM. But, H1000 is just about as good.

I prefer 4064 for my 308. But, Varget's also a good choice.

I am looking for long range really. How far have you got your lapua out to?

I just built the Lapua for my son for long range, but haven't finished load development.

The others are consistently sub-moa at 1k and we're sorting out logistics for some 2k shooting just for kicks.
