I'm looking for load data for a .308 Win, with a 135gn Power Hammer from an 18 inch barrel.
My available powers are: TAC, CFE223, LEVERevolution and H4831SC.
I found load data for the 135 gn Power Hunter bullet with TAC in the Hammer Hunter load data showing 47grains at 2,888 and 49 grains at 2,980. Higher than 49 grains indicated pressure.
I only will have 1 day to test loads before leaving on a hunting trip so I'm trying to decide how to best test for pressure, accuracy and bullet drop to 600 yards with only 1 day of testing.
I'm using Peterson small primer brass. Think it might produce higher than normal pressures.
You already have TAC powder. One load tested in the Load Data sheets. Also, the 137gr loads should shoot the same and there's a ton of them. You should get your load in one day. Hammers are easy!
My only opportunity for testing loads before leaving on a hunting trip will be during an EIC match where I'll be able to shoot for about 15-20 minutes at 200, 300 & 600 yards.
I know I can do a ladder test to test for pressure, but I won't have much time to test for an accuracy node. I'm trying to decide/guess what powder charges to preload for testing the drop at various distances.

I didn't notice pressure signs with any of the above loads, but I settled on 47.0 gr TAC as giving me the most accurate groups (1" 5-shot group). Hope that helps. Soon I'll be testing the same bullet with Varget and CFE-223....just because.
