I just bought a new tikka that I plan to use for protecting cattle from coyotes. Does anyone out there have a good recipe for this rifle. I would like to shoot a bullet between 70&90 grains as I live in extremely windy country. Thanks for any help

Running 87Gr Vmax @3200 fps in my T3x Varmint Hunter. Pretty much devastating on critters & shoot very well!!

Powder is 43 grains ADI 2209, COAL 2.660

My Kimber 243 shoots under MOA with the following:
85gr Gameking/42.0gr RL 17/OAL 2.650/3228 fps
85gr TSX/45.5gr Hunter/CCI LRM/OAL 2.650/3247fps
90gr Hotcor/44.0gr Hunter/CCI LRM/OAL 2.660/3106fps
100gr Grandslam/46.5gr 780/LRM/OAL 2.625/3027fps
The Granslam is magic on deer.

As with anything else, YMMV. Load the heaviest and highest BC that your barrel twist can stabilize and shoot well out of your rifle. If yours is a 1:10", consider the Berger 90 Match BT Target behind 51g Ramshot Magnum to generate 3137 FPS out of 24" barrel. Good luck!

I have shot out the barrel on my pre-64 Winchester with around 4000 + rounds that I know of and started on my new generation Winchester 70 BACO....theres only one load that I use Sierra 85 gr. BTHP....I keep it around 3100 fps....

My 243 loves the 75 grain Vmax and 95 grain ballistic tips with IMR 4350
does your rifle have a 1:8 twist?
