Looking for reload data for 270 WIN with 145 gr. ELD-X using H4350
This bullet is not in my 9th edition Hornady reload manual and I cannot find reload data online so I extrapolated data from 140 gr and 150 gr bullets from the Hornady manual for H4350 powder and came up with start of 53.65 gr and max of 58.15 gr. I am more than curious what the 10th edition Hornady Reloading Handbood might have to say about reloadfing this bullet. I checked the Hodgdon data and extrapolated a min of 47.5 gn. and max of 50.5 gn. for H4350 using data for 140gr and 150 gr bullets. This caused me some consternation so I averaged the data from Sierra, Berger and Hornady and came up with a min of 49 gr and max of 54.4 gr of H4350 for the 270 145 gr ELD-X.
My choice of powder is based upon what was in the powder safe. I also have some H1000 and much Varget

270 WIN from Hornady 10th Edition:

H4350, start @ 47.4gr (2600); MAX LOAD 53.1gr (2900)
COAL: 3.330" 145 gr ELD-X

Not to reopen a concluded matter or give unsolicited "advice" (this is not advice) but is your heart set on using 4350? Reason I ask is that in my experience my 270 thrives on slower powders, often compressed a bit. 4831 is kind of the standard 270 powder, but mine likes even slower. You don't see 7828 or the new 7977 frequently mentioned as 270 powders but they are awesome! And hodgdons load data shows the 7977 as giving highest velocity with 150s in the 270. I've also had good results with rl 22 (no surprise) and rl25 (possibly surprising).
