I'm having a 8" twist Bartlein 2B chambered in 6.5x47. Should be done in three weeks or so. I see folks regularly post where their heavier barreled 6.5x47s shoot in the .2s and .3s. How about you guys with the lighter weight rigs? How are they performing for you?

I've got all the stuff to build a lightweight one but probably won't start it until summer is over.

I've got one built by Jon Beanland on a borden alpine with a bartlein #2 8.5 twist 5R barrel in a mcmillan edge stock. It's my deer rifle and I haven't really wrung it out, but it's a 1/2" rifle shooting 100 gr. Barnes TTSX's at 3080 fps which is my deer hunting load.

I wouldn't fret, it's a great round for a lightweight rig. Super low recoil and the accuracy will be there if it's screwed together right.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking forward to it. Also having 8" twist 22-250 and 10" twist .308 barrels chambered up for the same rig. Should be much fun…

Finally got it done. Had it in the LVSF stock for a while, but it now resides in a Manners EH3.

Stainless 700 action trued by Jon Beanland
Bartlein 2b, 8" twist, finished at 24". Also have threaded and chambered 22-250 (8" twist) and .308 barrels for it.
PT&G BDL floorplate
PT&G recoil lug
Timney trigger.
Burris XTB bases
SWFA rings
Bushnell 3-12 LRHS

Not done with load development, but it is showing some promise.

This is a 7lb 6.5x47 Lapua built by Cloud Peak Gunworks. A buddy of mine bought it from one of his customers and brought it to me to change out the stock, bed, and load development. Specs are:
Pierce Titanium action
#3 Brux bbl 23" long
Mcmillian gamescout stock with Edge
4.5-14 Leupy

Had a good thing going but the 5th shot got away from me. I was celebrating a little too early. The lightweight rifle shoots very well with 130 grain JLK's.
