I'm customizing my .308 Savage 99 C and turning it into a "Scout" type rifle.

1. Boyd's laminated stock and forearm
2. 20" Bartlein 5R stainless barrel (W/ black finish)
3. 30 mm. tubed "medium" power variable scope (2x - 8x)

Yeah, it is not a bolt gun and the scope is not forward mounted but will have a low power setting.

So tell me, what would be a good lower powered variable, 30 mm tubed scope??

A man after my own heart. I now shoot a Savage 99C that I had bored out to 338 Federal. I happen to also have a 99C magazine for 284 Win and a 338-284 reamer---so I may just have to re-chamber it. I'm a strong believer in the Bushnell 3200 series scopes, ever since they were first announced.
