You could use the factory MOA turret that comes with the scope. All you would need to do is make an MOA based drop chart so you would know what MOA to dial the turret to at whatever distance you were shooting.

That's what I do with all my other scopes because shooting conditions change if you hunt different States or areas and elevations in the same State.

You could also order a new turret through Leupolds Custom shop tailored to your load and shooting conditions. I believe they are around $60 for this scope per turret.

So the standard Target Moa turret is included? This a recently divulged revelation, and I thank you for your patience. Now given that I shoot the 3x9 version of the vxr, and would not part with the several units I employ, what do you find so onerous with the 4x12. Just wondering. I am intrigued with the unit...thx

Yes, the MOA Turret will be included. I have no experience with this scope, so I can't comment on the pros and cons of the scope. It was on a rifle I wound up with in a trade deal. The rifle is also listed on here for sale.

Sorry I couldn't be more help with actual use of the scope. I've read and heard a lot of good things about the VX-R line as I'm sure you have too.
