I don't have one on a Lapua. I've had a 3x18 B&C Ill on my 300wsm and now have the 4x24 with TMOA. I also have a 4x24 B&C. I have 2 more 3x18 TMOA's on order that will go on a 6.5saum and another 300wsm.
I have a 2x12 with a B&C reticle , it's great . nice size and weight , big field of view , works great in low light . it's just what I wanted on a point and shoot rifle .
I'd have bought the 3x18 , but I didn't want a side focus .
here is where I bought my 2x12 from . I'm sure they'd have the higher magnification ones too . just watch the price the 2x12 varies often. anywhere from $823 - $1200 . $823 is as low as I've seen from these guys . free shipping and no tax .
Leopold site doesn't have any info about their scopes other than they point out some of them have a gold ring. That fire dot... is there a etched dot or is it a gap when the illumination is not on? If it's a gap, how big is the gap?
Wind plex reticle... how far apart are the windage hash marks?
The TMOA reticle... is it a gap or a fix aim point like a crosshair or dot?
Leopold must be one of those liberal companies. You gotta guy it to see what's in it.
Took it to the range yesterday. Running it side by side with my Zeiss Diavari 6-24x56. Again, clarity and resolution were about the same. At dusk the VX6 was neck and neck, very close to the Zeiss. Still give a very slight edge to the Zeiss.
Don't have an SHV to compare, but the VX6 has better glass than my old 3-15x56 NXS.
It tracked perfectly from 100-500. Turrets aren't as tactile as I would like, but repeatable.
I will say this, Leupold has come a long way with their glass quality. I'm impressed it will hang with the Zeiss. My old VX3 3.5-10x50 is like looking through a coke bottle, lol.
