i was wondering how good of scopes are these. Are their elevation and windage drops reliable and do they come back to zero everytime.

I think the optical quality is decent, however the dials don't click, which could be a pain in the butt if you dial in your adjustments.

I bought one for my sons 243, it has as much clarity as my vx111, But the adjustments dont have knobs they are quarter slots and marked in 1/2 moa incroments for a total of 14 moa per round

I have three VX-2s and they all return to zero every time. One of my 6-18s has been on several rifles, including a 22-250 and the dials were used quite extensively. It always returned to zero.

My friend's Rifleman on his 308 clicks nicely. Perhaps it's an older version or something. I helped him sight it in and got to shoot a few rounds myself as we adjusted it for 200 yrd zero. Beginning as it was 4 inches down and 14 inches left we only fired about 6 shots total to get it shooting 3" high at 100. It was my first Leupold experience and I thought it was at least as good as my new Nikon BDC. The scope seemd to track exactly as we wanted it to go.
