Which is better?
I found a Leupold VH6-HD 3-18X44 CDS with FireDot WINDPLEX Reticle SFP for $1,099.00 at a LGS, &
Vortex PST Gen II 5-25X50 with EBR-7C reticle....FFP for $999.00 at Cabelas…..
This is primarily for elk hunting but maybe long range at some point for my new Bergara Premier Pro Ridgeback in 300 Win Mag.
I like the CDS idea, of the Leupold, it seems to take some of the guess work out but is it practical in the real world?
Having to just range, dial & hold for wind seems simple.....is it too good to be true?
Leupold dropped the Windplex & replaced it with the TMOA reticle, but is the TMOA worth the extra $600.00
i am hoping the rifle will group well with Federal 180gr with a Partition, nothing has been shot thru it yet....
also, another question, should i install a 20MOA or a 0 MOA rail? …..also, 1 piece mount or rings??
any suggestions are appreciated.
