I ordered a new Leica 1600 Rangefinder. The vendor sent an e-mail saying it would ship in 24 hours. The the next day I received another e-mail saying it was going to be 3-4 weeks before they shipped.
I have called several other vendors and all say they want have any new 1600s until mid to late September.
One vendor said Leica sent out the first 50 to seven vendors. The others will not get their first delivery of the new Leica 1600 until after Semtember 9, 2010.
This almost amounts to a bait and switch tactic.
It will be interesting to see if Leica delivers on September 9, 2010.
