These questions are specific to the Leica LRF1600, and for those who own or use one frequently. I have searched and read dozens of threads looking for some specific answers to this range finder. I appreciate everyones ideas, experiences, and opinions about range finders.
I am not looking for information on any other range finder even if it is better in every possible way.

Would appreciate some info. if anyone can help with their personal experiences.

1. What battery does it take?

2. Is the angle finder accurate (similar readings) when compared to other angle measuring instruments?

3. Is the barrometric pressure reading accurate when compared to other measuring instruments?

4. Does the angle finder read in degrees?

5. Does the barrometric pressure read in PSI?

1. What battery does it take? 3 Volt C2R

2. Is the angle finder accurate (similar readings) when compared to other angle measuring instruments? YES

3. Is the barrometric pressure reading accurate when compared to other measuring instruments? I'M Not sure I don't use PSI

4. Does the angle finder read in degrees? YES

5. Does the barrometric pressure read in PSI? YES

I have a CRF 1600 yards

+1 to previous post. If I'm not mistaken, I think the battery is CR2?

The barometric sensor is very close to others I have (they all read slightly different, but close enough). However, I have to convert it to inches of mercury. My ballistic programs don't accept psi.

I thought it was CR2 but I googled it & thats what I came up with :)

I use inches HG as well & can't really understand why the imperial pressure is PSI....

Thank you very much.
What kind of life are you getting out of your battery?

Those are spendy little buggers compared to a 9v. I get almost a year out of my 9v in my CRF1200.

1 in/ hg =.49 psi so if you want to convert in the field just double the psi reading to give you a close enough in/hg.
With regard to accuracy the readings off my lica 1600 are not the same as my kestrel but they are consistant and the differences are small.

I have a leica 1600 range finder and if I want to convert PSI to Barometric pressure I multiply 2.0359 times the PSI reading. That will give me a very close reading of the Barometric pressure.Hope this will be useful to you.
