I just got a new leica 1600 and this week at the ranch i could only get 800 out of it on a side of a mountain only 600 on mule deer. Not to happy with it for 1600 it should be a lot better than this. i tried hills that i know where only around a 1000-1200 and never got a reading
what do y'all think i got a bad one

I have only tried mine a little ,but ranged a tree at 1540 yards, hillside at 1,100 yards, easily hit rocks at way past 1000 yards, sounds like your's has a issue. Are you sure the battery is good?

I have about 4 friends that got bad ones last and early this year. One is on #3, BUT THAT ONE IS WORKING like a champ, my 1200 cant keep up with it, when I am having trouble in mountains at 1000, five tries. He is banging hand held out to 14-1500. Send it back.

+1, send it back. Mine has no trouble with trees over 1000. It is amazing to me that these high end optics manufacturers have this much trouble making a consistent lrf. It seems to be hit or miss with leica, swaro, etc on getting a good one.

sp6x6 did they get them from Dennis at army navy? I bought one from him but he said I got one of the good ones. Do you shoot with that clan of 1000 yard shooters? Seems like a few Leica's in the first batch had some issues.

Yes,Yes

Send it back! I have a 1200 and it is amazing. It rarely has trouble ranging and usually that means what I am ranging is to far away. It's worth it to have them fix it.

Hay if you guys don't want to use a bushnell....thats ok by me ......what ever floats your boat.I will use mine and not have a second thought above it ....at almost half the cost. by the way i have a leica and i will sell it for $400.00 in a minute if any one wants it.....it a 1200

Well, I got a bad one. The thing won't reliably range COWS out to 550 yards!!!! I can't get a reading on a silhouette target at 1000. To boot, I bought mine from an ebay store and Bushnell won't cover the product because "it was not purchased at a certified Bushnell dealer." I have been happy with my Bushnell trail cam, but extremely disappointed with a unit that advertises out to 1500 yards in good conditions.

CRNA, seems like you need to put two and two together. Ebay store, not working, Bushnell will not warranty it? It seem they think it may not be a Bushnell. From what little I have looked on Ebay for optics, it seem to be a lot of junk being passed off as good stuff. If yours will not work to 500, that is the first I have heard of from a Bushnell. They have been one of the more reliable ones out there. I hope you haven't bought one of the Fake Leu. mark 4s also. :)
