ladder test ?\'s

To test a rifle with over 100 gr case capacity, what increment should the charge be increased by? In my 7 mm AM, if I start at 104 gr of wc 872 behind a 160 gr nosler, I think I'll hit pressure signs at around 106-107 gr.or exceed the velocity at which it should operate.
a round loaded with 106 gr and left in a warm chamber for a couple min. while I made some adjustments turned out overpressure at 3679 fps.
This 872 is funny stuff, so I'm kinda waiting for cooler weather to work up a decent hunting load, no use eating the barrel on a load now that will be underpowered come november.
