Knights SR-25 308

SMK 175 is very popular in the AR-10 and SR-25.
SMK 168 is also a classic, but has less ability out at distances past 600 yards, so the 175 is preferred if you plan on going to 800 and 1000.

with that short of a barrel I'm sure you can't stay supersonic to 1000 yds probably not at 900 so plan accordingly. at one of the last 1000 yd matches there was two persons shooting an m1-a and a ar10, the ar10 could not stay supersonic to 1000 but the m1-a could with the same load so we guessed it was due to the ar10 having a 20 inch barrel and the m1-a having a 22 inch barrel. short barrels are not what you want for long range long because velocity is your biggest advantage, the quicker to bullet gets to the target the less time the wind has to mess with it. ditch that short barrel and put 26 inches instead

Sierra came out with a 169g Match King that takes up where the 168g MK leaves off. I am shooting the 169s in a Krieger 10t with simply unbelievable accuracy at 300 yards with IMR XBR 8208. The 169 is what the 168 should have been, but back in the day, BC did not drive the thinking. The 168g Sierra MK was designed to be a 600 yard bullet.

I am not a Hornady fan, but these may be worth a look. https://www.hornadyle.com/rifle-ammunition/168-gr-eld-match-tap-ar#!/

If you can get the Berger 185 Juggernaut fast enough, it too may be worth a look.

If shooting hand loads, the bigger heavier might be the ticket, slow at first, but maintain down range. 215s look really funny stuffed that far in a case, but at 2350 FPS they are still supersonic at 1000 yards. Twist rate will be the determining factor on what pills you can shoot.
