Just Had a Reloading Kit in My Cart But....

If you're a little bit of a gambler.....get the reloading equipment "NOW"! It won't go bad! 😁 You can gather components as they come available! Worst case scenario.....you wasted a few bucks on the equipment! Later you may find components and have trouble getting equipment! memtb

What @memtb said.

Get the equipment now and components as they become available.

You'll eventually have all you need, besides, ammo isn't available.

Stay safe

I ordered the Hornady Lock n Load Classic single stage kit along with a Hornady Tumbler, dies for 6.5 Creedmoor and 308, shell holders and primer pocket cleaner.

Just need powder, primers and bullets.
Attaboy! Now you can move forward with relentlessly checking websites til you find what you need in way of components like the rest of us.
Start looking for local stores to hunt down primers. They are nonexistent online.

General RE Lee, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your choice for low volume reloading.

But, if multiple calibers are on the agenda and the utmost in precision is not required .....a quality turret press is very user friendly, giving you the opportunity to set-up several die sets at the same time, without the constant removal and readjustments with each cartridge change! The new, heavy duty turret presses are pretty darn stable... my press is capable of producing sub 2" groups (3 shots) at 300 yards without any exotic measures taken during the reloading process! memtb

What is the reason? I decided to go this route cause I'm not going to be a high volume loader. Just hunting ammo and occasional range time.
I believe things are going to maintain or increase in price. I believe availability will worsen for awhile. I do not believe things will get any better for quite awhile or ever with our hobby.

indeed. I have accepted an attitude of this stuff might not get much use for a while but I can take time getting everything set up.

Dont let anyone discourage you in any way. Components little by little are available and you will eventaully have all you need to produce high quality reloads that match your rifles and hunting/shooting needs.

This is one fun rabbit hole where you will always want more and better. The fun never ends.

Enjoy and stay safe.

General RE LEE

Living in Hawaii we have no choice but to reload. I too started with the exact press you have. I then switched to a Forster coax press but still use my lock and load occasionally. I switched over to the aluminum "bushings" on my lock and load but noticed over time they create a little wiggle, the reason why I switched to my Forster. I've loaded up to a thousand bullets at a time for my 233 and 308 AR's as well as my long range hunting rounds on both presses.
I would most definitely look at a high quality powder dispenser/ electronic scale combination as that would save you the most time and is the most critical. Your press is just fine and will be more than enough to suit your needs. Good luck aloha!!
