Has anyone got a good receipe using IMR7828ssc for a Weatherby .30-.378 mag? I use IMR7828 with great results and was wondering if the super short cut was any better?

Thanks All replys welcome.

I played with it this fall in my 300 wby. I got the same velocity as the normal 7828. BUT I still wound up using my regular stuff in the 300 wby because I liked a full case and it always performed so well. I can't think in the big 30-378 it would give any advantage and once again you would wind up with "air space" in the cartridge.
I did play with ssc in my 30-06. I was able to neck size some win cases and fit 63 grains under a 180 bullet for about 2750fps and no pressure signs. I was hoping it would do a little better but only have a 23" barrel. It was accurate and clean burning. I think the ssc will be most useful for cartridges that were getting just a little to much "fill" with the older longer kernals---now you'll be able to get more in and see what happens.

I've been using the 7828 ssc for my 30-378 because it feeds faster out of my RCBS electronic.

102.4 grains is max behind my 190 gr.SBt's causes a light case shine. So it's the max I would ever use. I use Retumbo, R-25, and now A8700 for my 220 and 240's.

I've only had time to load up and shoot about 100 rounds to get ready for elk season. I did not do chrono time yet. I just went for what was max and then back it down a hair and worked on accuracy on the range. The length was right what the books said after i did all my bullet seating depths.
