Anyone ever use this imr 3031 powder? Did it work well? What calibers and grain wegjts do you use it for? My reloading shop had some i bought a lb to try. I thought about using it in my 223 and 556 ammo 55 t0 65 grain bullets I normaly use 4895 for it. Just dont allways have what you want in these times.

Go to the source: https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center?rdc=true&type=54
and you can check out other bullet weights and calibers.
I do use IMR3031 for my 223 Rem but find the grain cylinder size an issue. Have to weigh each load to get it to 0.10 of my selected powder charge. But it does shoot and shoots well.
Will work in the .243 Win but only for light projectiles.

I HAVE USED IT FOR 243 30/06 IT DID OK never let me down ever - I use IMR 4350 for my 270 WSM - I could use some powder 4350 and 3031 if any one has it - please let me know - thank you

I've used it for "Marlin only" 45-70 loads with both cast and jacketed 405 gr bullets. Was very accurate, no issues. I like it in large straight wall rifle cases.

I use it 5.56/.223 and it works really well. I use a Dillion 650 for reloading and I don't have any issues with it throwing charges accurately and consistently. Accuracy on paper is fine for semiautomatic ARs. I reload 55gr-69gr FMJBT rounds with it.

Yup it's a great powder for modern 45-70 Marlin loads. I used it with a 350 gr Hornady for an Alaska hunt. Good compromise for a caribou round and bear protection.
