Just picked up 8 lbs of. IMR 3031 looking for anyone's pet/favorite loads for .223 rem. I have never used it before I normally use Varget or Win 748 but was able to lay my hands on a 8lb keg so I did trying to get Varget is still a pain in the backside. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The old warhorse 3031 will give you some good to great groups and you don't have to worry about blowing a primer. A long drop tube will help with velocity.
When I started reloading many years ago 3031 was all I used in the 223,22-250 and 243.....these days I use very little 3031 as like a jack of all trades its master of very few.

On vacation this week pulled the trigger a little today one load in particular did very well 1/2" group at 90 yards best 5 shot group I've ever gotten out of that gun

Bushmaster with 20 hbar
CCI 400 primers
21 gr IMR 3031
55 gr v-max
