Hey Guys,

The wife got me a Bushnell Scout 1000 for Christmas and its less than ideal for LR hunting but I'm trying to make due for now.

I have some shooting spots I'm taking ranges, angles etc and drawing maps with distances as my pre-season homework and wanted to know what your ideas are on getting the most out of your range finder.

So far I use a tripod with it and might try doing readings off a sand bags but what are your thoughts on the best lighting conditions, time of day, tricks etc.

Early morning of later evening works best for light conditions. Sand bag it and brace it up and use different modes to get the longest range. We get about 950yrds out of ours on it's best day and 600+ ish average all day use.
