Congrats on such a fine optical tool. You will never regret spending that kind of $$ on good optics.

Last year I opted for the 10x42 EL's instead of the 15's. Not because I think they are better, I just had to get one first and the other in a couple of years. I have used the 15's on a tripod and have been very impressed with them for over 1000 yard spotting. For up to and under 1000 yards, I will use the EL's every time. Its not that 1 is better than the other, they are awesome in their own way in varying circumstances. I spend about 10 days every year in Arizona hunting coues whitetails and quite often my cousins 15's come in quite handy for locating a distant buck.

Enjoy!

i had them out over the weekend for the Utah General Rifle Deer Hunt and all i can say is they saved me ALOT of walking as i was unable to access the areas that i had been scouting due to snow and was forced to hunt an area that was unfamiliar to me. i was impressed with the doubler. very simple to install and breakdown. initially i had thought it would be a little dark but was fine, even in low light. the tripod system is simply next to none in quality and coupled with the collet style mounting adapter, proved to be a very solid, quick and efficient means to get the tripod up and in use in NO time at all, and thus packed away very quickly also. i was able to put individual points on small bucks at 1000yds plus (early am)and was regularly spotting bedded deer throughout the day. even located a very respectable 25" 3x3 @ 643yds...no wind, relativly straight across from me.....probably should have killed him but it was the first day....hope i dont regret it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif...we all know how that go's. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
