Any news on the 329 grain Berger?
Or maybe a 300 grain ELD?
Seems the 338s are not getting any love lately.

Curious as to what gap you want filled?

Well that's a good question. I suppose the gaps are all filled, I was thinking about a AI reamer and thought if I could get a bullet close to .9 BC I would go ahead and do it.
Or.... I would keep it standard 338 if the right bullet come along that would be give my 9 twist good ballistics.
I'm aware that most of the current bullets would work, I just think there is some BC left on the table that the manufactures haven't utilized yet.

I'm fickle as well. I have enough .338 bullets on hand to wear out a couple of barrels, but would likely ad a new one to the stock if given a chance. The shelf is starting to warp

I've had trouble getting started reloading lately. I did manage to anneal some .338 RUM necks, so maybe this week. Plan is to use the 213 Hammer, I'll likely run out of range before I run out of BC.

Reality where's the fun in that!

I'm right there with ya.
I did get some Lapua 30-06 annealed that I've been putting off.
I want to get out to the range, but last time I was out it was so **** hot.... I'm not one to enjoy myself when the dew point is past 70 degrees and humidity is 80 percent.

We've been cool, overcast, and rainy. I did get out yesterday for spring bear. Winter snow got deep, and the melt had some target areas submerged.

I could have done better, just haven't.

Yeah that the thing you're looking at a much smaller niche market to fill for .338 bullets heavier than 300gr.

I'm giving the CE bullets in the 250-275gr a look for mine. Higher velocity and a similar B.C to the 300gr bergers. I know Shawn had a 100-125FPS gain in velocity with the 275's over the 300gr Bergers in addition to a small gain in B.C

I figured Hornady would come out with a 300ish grain bullet. They seem to offer several ELDs for every caliber except 338.

I am at the point in a build and am looking at bullet selection. I have the eld m 285 and the 300 grain elite hunters. I would like to pic up a little velocity, but to me going to the solids or monolithics doesn't seem like a great idea on a ling range hunting rifle. Hear a lot about them not opening up and just penciled through. I was hoping the 285 would get just a bit more velocity, but open up a bit better at range with less velocity at the target than the 300 berger.
