I have numerous Leupold scopes in all flavors and all have the 'golden ring' out front on the objective.... That one don't. So what is it? A Baraska in Leupold clothing???

Frankly, not sure, I'm not where my rifles are at. Last one I had out, the VX3 LRT High Turrent had the ring out front because someone commented (at the range) about it, said basically....'Gold Ring, expensive scope'.....
I'll have to look and report back.... They may or may not, again not sure...
Of course I buy them all from an authorized (Leupold dealer), in sealed boxes, not Flea-Bay.
I sometimes wonder where Leupold and Stevens sources their intrinsic parts, they are very cagy about internal comtent. I would not doubt that many internals are offshored....

I went and looked and you guys are right, some have the gold ring, some don't. All the conventional rifle scopes do. The Tactical ones don't. My benchrest does.
I'd still like to know where Leupold gets their internals. I wonder if, like Vortex, the glass is LOE and the internals are sourced whereever.....
The markup on optics is insane anyway.
I keep getting spam mails from an outfit that does watches so I bit and ordered one, A Rolex Oyster day-date in stainless. I have a Rolex, a real Oyster day-date and putting the watches side by side, you can't tell the difference, even the second hand moves in the trademark 1/3 second movement, just like the original. Only difference is I paid 150 bucks for the imposter and 4500 for the real thing. Even the wristband has the same links and the Rolex trademark on each segment and the clasp.
I'm sure a Rolex dealer can tell, but I can't.
Interesting how well the orientals can copy something.
I leave the good one at home in the safe and wear the imposter, only I know.

It seems like a good lesson for the bidder to read ALL of the text when bidding on any ebay item.
At least this seller was honest.

fleebay is a decent source sometimes but it is always full of that crap "mark 4 style" "eotech style" etc. etc. Hundreds of knock off junk copies of everything all the time. Hiting the bid button is just like putting cash on the counter, you had better already know what your buying.
