Hunting with a 338 lapua mag?

I am looking at the purchase of a Dakota Longbow in 338 lapua mag. Is anyone out there hunting with this cartridge? I am interested in long range precision shooting as well as hunting and am looking for a good balance in rifle and caliber. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle?

I talked with someone who has one and he says he hates the moly barrel. He said it shot great the first 300 rounds but went down hill after that. He looked at it with a bore scope and said the barrel looks like a cracked desert floor. He reccommended buying the action seperate and having it custom built by a good smith.
