Here's some pics,huge piece will take awhile getting familiarized with.Saw 6 gh's 3 way out of range 204 needed. Three shot ,one @140,side body ,one @125 side shot tiny holes no exit,and one @150 through the ear.All lasered with my Halo 750,one was shot on a rubble heap and froze instantly to the log and never fell off,all never moved one hair from where shot.Pretty amazing little round,i believe i can hit em easily at 200,but after that it's 204 time.Check out the pics,only had three hours out,work ended my fun.Pic 1,DRT instantly,pic 2 the terrain,pic 3 days end ,pic 4 shoulder shot,pic 5 through the ear .

Savage 17 Winchester Super Magnum,rimfire bloats their insides instantly to jello.
This is typical this time of year for groundhogs.
Mange will not kill groundhogs,it's more of a summer heat issue,been in the 90's for weeks.There's only a small window when it's this hot to get GH's,they won't stay out long in heat,no sweat glands and would die quickly,if they couldn't get where it's cool.
This farm has been operable for 65 years and they've never been able to eradicate then hogs,but i'm going to try.

Went to my parents farm a couple weeks ago and spent a few days. Between my older son, wife, and I we got 7. All were with 6.5s of some type except 1 was a 338. 4 came out while I was shooting steel, so I couldn't help but try my luck.
My parents say they are still seeing them regularly. I think these are like feral swine, you can't kill enough to make a dent.

That wouldn't be NE Ohio would it. Terrain is a lot like home and man do we have the groundhogs. If it is we should get together some weekend. Nice shooting

Trust me, IME: Hunt 'em hard enough and - maybe with a little "help" from the coyotes - you can eradicate groundhogs on any Ohio farm.
Finally retired, with enough time and rifles, I now wish I could turn back the clock and maybe "accidentally on purpose" miss a few shots, or would have ignored those pregnant females on the farms I used to hunt. No 'hogs to be found on any of them now, and it's getting harder to find new places to hunt . Only this year (after a self-imposed 3-year ban) have I allowed myself the luxury or shooting half a dozen on my own family farm, where I limited shots to those over 200 yards.
