Ok guys this might be a dumb question but I would appreciate your input. This year I drew out for a once in a lifetime ibex hunt in the Florida mountains here in nm. The ibex is not a large animal, slightly larger than a pronghorn. I will be using a remington 700 Sendero in 300 win mag. So I obviously may not want to use the same bullets ill be using for elk. On an ibex hunt shots can be from 200 yards up to whatever your abilities are limited to.

- what do you guys think about the HSM 200 gr match grade bullet?
- what do you guys think about the HSM 210 gr VLD for elk?

I have seen a lot of positive and negative feedback on the ammunition sales sites. Some say HSM is crap, some say it is awesome. i do not recall the barrel twist rate on my rifle. i bought it in 2011, i think its a 1/12. I would ideally like to find a middle of the road round that will work for both hunts if possible, but I think I'll just have to use a different rifle for each hunt.

Thanks

Either one will work. One isn't going to be any more explosive than the other. On a hunt like that, dead is dead! That is what you want the animal to be is dead. So use either one that shoots the best and claim your trophy. Good luck, let us know how you make out.

As with any ammo from any manufacturer, your results with HSM ammo may vary.
I've seen it tried in several rifles, and some it works in and some it does not.

My own 7mm Rem Sendero it works great - but your 300 may be different.
