Anyone have this rifle? How do you or kids/wife like it. What have you found for a load?

Picked one up, havn't shot it yet. If your looking at a Ruger compact in .243 I can tell you about that one.

I'm more set on the 7mm-08 as I'd like a larger caliber so he can use it for more than just deer.

I bought a Kimber -08 for my daughter. Just factory ammo so far. Accubonds were best. Antelope out past 300 have been no problem. Wife and daughter have not mentioned recoil.

Got an axis youth in 7mm-08 the 5 foot wife loves it she'll shoot it all day long flinging 140 bergers at 2850 fps and 3 shots at 100yrds just over .5" the 10 year old boy loves shooting it as well. Best $250 I ever spent

My 6 yo son likes shooting the .243. After his first shot I ask him if he wanted to shoot it again, he said "yeah, but stand behind me so I don't fall off the bench."
