I hunt in very steep country out west and need an angle compensating rangefinder. I was looking at the Leupold RX-1000 TBR but the system doesn't make sense to me and the bow mode only goes to 60 yards. I need it to go to 100yds.
Can someone explain to me why it doesn't just calculate for the horizontal distance? It shows a mt goat at 400 yards with a 40deg angle in the product description and it says shoot for 335. When I did the cosine calculations it gave something like 306. . . what gives?
Any rangefinders that I should also look at?
Thanks, Kelpy
