Hello from the "Peoples Republic of California"

I'm a new member from the wrong (left) coast looking to build a new long range rifle. Been hunting the coastal areas of Northern California for 35 years. Now want to start hunting the big canyons inland and need to build a new rifle that can reach out and touch something. My calibers of choice right now is either the 300 Win Mag or the 7mm Ultra Mag. Would also use this rifle as an Elk gun if ever I get a chance to go out of state or draw a tag here in Cali. Shoot straight and be safe,
