Hello,

Joined a while ago and have read a lot of great information on here. Relatively new to reading and long range shooting.

I currently have a 300 win mag built on a Curtis custom action and a MPA ultra light folding chassis. I am thinking about changing my stock to the XLR - Element 4.0 Magnesium Chassis.

Has anyone ever SA rounds from a LA? Can I use my LA with a bolt and barrel custom fit to fire a SA? I hope that makes sense? Was thinking of getting a 308 bolt and barrel chambered in 7mm-08 to fire from my LA.

Welcome to long range hunting, from the piedmont of northeast georgia. Great to have you on board... i am sure there are people with the experience that you request on sa cartridges in la guns
Many years ago i did a 7mm mauser in a long action. There were plenty of 7mm cases then and it allowed a long stroke on the mauser cartridge. Ackley improving one gave somewhat more case capacity. My experience was it treaded close on the heels of the 280 remington., with imr4831.

Welcome from Colorado. There's no problem shooting SA on LA. There maybe feeding problems from the mag but can be worked out. Good luck
