Been a long-time reader here and have gathered a wealth of knowledge from the forum.

I'm currently shooting a Savage 110 30-06, accutrigger, Boyds stock, with a Monarch scope. I've generally used it for hunting whitetail, but have recently taken an interest in shooting at longer distances and tighter groups. Being in the Southeast, not as many 300+ ranges or fields around here like out west.

Regardless, I've got the itching to build a dedicated longer-range rifle, maybe in 6.5C, maybe even 7MM or 300WM, heavy barrel, bedded, etc, so I appreciate all the great posts here and continuing my exploration into LRS.

Welcome les strat to the forum. There is a very large pool of info here. In my short time here my knowledge has increased a good bit. I shoot a 280 ai., but also have a 7mm Rem mag too. Good to hear from somebody in a neighboring state. North east georgia.here.

Hey neighbor. Yeah, we don't have as many open areas as our west, but there are some pretty extensive 700+ yard fields. More than people think. I still keep it inside 300 for whitetail. Wouldn't mind a magnum round rifle regardless.
