Am I the only one who finds the new forum tools leaving a little more to be desired?

We used to be able to edit our threads however long they are up, with the new update - we're only able to update the threads for 24 hours.

we can no longer mark our classifieds ourselves as sold/expired after 24 hours.

If we sell something after the 24 hours has went by, it cannot be edited out of the first post any longer.

I have seen on multiple occasions new forum members posting private information (phone #'s, addresses, etc.) where the OP was quickly able to get the info then discretely delete the post so no unwanted people get that private information.....

This new update is a A step back in my opinion - I have talked with moderators with no response on this new update - am i the only one who feels that this was a step back from the original setup they had to offer?

This is in NO WAY a jab at the forum and the moderators, i love this forum! just wanting to hear some opinions to see if im not the only one who feels this way.

Something is definitely going on, yesterday I responded to a post ...

... I went back just now, and the edit button is gone again.

The first part I agree is a step back.

The second part (in bold) I'm happy to see. It's much better for the rest of us to able to look at an ad and see what it was and what the price was. This really helps the others on the forum to be able to know what the market value is of things they may want to buy/sell.

When people just dete the entire first post of the add and replace it with the word "sold" its very unhelpful for other buhers/sellers

I could definitely see where your coming from @XSIVSPD

IMO Being able to edit the sold items AFTER 24 hours really weeds out the comments/PM's asking "is this still for sale?"

You can quickly and easily check websites/other forums like eBay to get comparable prices if your searching for a good asking price-

I just don't see where taking away our editing tools actually benefit the end user!

maybe if enough people voice their opinion we could get the edit feature back? in no way am i trying to ruffle feathers, I just feel we lost a really nice luxury!

yep, you can no longer delete posts.

I notice with the new features, i have tried posting SOLD in comments of my classified ad. it wont automatically change the ad to sold/expired anymore. even after 72+ hours.

I miss the old way - but im happy to be a member here!

Warning! This thread is more than 4 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
