Just had a great morning at the range testing pressures for my 6.5 PRC. Only bummer is waiting between groups for the barrel to cool. Has anyone used a Magnospeed Riflekuhl? Any luck cooling the barrel quicker? Is this a bad idea?
Living here in South Western Florida, I am using a product called the chamber chiller.Just had a great morning at the range testing pressures for my 6.5 PRC. Yes, I have one. Sent the first one back because it has a loud annoying high pitch whine that I can hear with the electronic muffs. They sent a replacement and it is just as loud. Doesn't bother me too much but I know that it annoys the heck out of some of the other shooters if nearby.Just had a great morning at the range testing pressures for my 6.5 PRC. All that but I didn't send mine back. If you use electronic muffs you probably won't like it otherwise it works. Take the little coffee filter thing out and you get better airflow.Yes, I have one. It seems to work fairly well but goes through batteries pretty quickly.
Exactly I have an air mattress pump with a piece of clear tubing yes it's bigger but it puts air out at a much higher rate than anything like the rifle cool and I have $24 in the whole set up including batteriesI use one while testing. I actually like it, I am a firm believer in testing loads at barrel temps you plan to shoot at, and for that it helps.
Pull the filter and it moves air, way better than the original barrel cool. You could rig up a battery powered mattress pump for a third the cost and do better though, this is handy range bag size though.
Is it hard to keep the hose in place or do you have a gasket on it etc?Exactly I have an air mattress pump with a piece of clear tubing yes it's bigger but it puts air out at a much higher rate than anything like the rifle cool and I have $24 in the whole set up including batteries
