using the 120 TTSX? Or even the 140 TTSX? Looking for information using QL or, better yet, experience. Thanks.
Possibly N165, not N135.I believe N135 is similar to H4350, so it would be most suitable.
I used H4350 or Varget in mine with 120-150g bullets, very accurate too.
Cheers.
N135 isn't terribly close to much on the burn rate. H4895 being about the closest to something people are familiar with. Nowhere near H4350.
Manufacturer has a max load for a 140gr Nosler BT at 37.3gr, 2710fps, 120gr Sierra SP 41.1gr 3002fps
GRT says max for the 140 TTSX would be 38.8gr at 2780fps, 120TTSX 41.6gr at 3023fps.
All 24" barrel.
You're leaving 100+fps on the table vs something like RL15.5, BL-C2, Varget, CFE-223, TAC, H4895, N540 to give you some options.
If we could mail powder I would send you the N140 I have left for free. It has pressured out before obtaining velocity that N540, Varget, IMR4895, TAC, AA2520, were all able to obtain.I ave been wanting to try N140 but missed it the last time it was in stock. I have Varget and a load with a 140 TSX but just not "comfortable with it. Have some 203-b too but it was all over the place...but I found some N140 at Drifters Gear and it arrived yesterday. Really hoping this is the "magic" for my rifle.
Concur. Varget has performed very well in my '08 pushing 120gr monos (HH). Have not tried it with 140gr bullets.Varget all the way. More temp stable and better speed and accuracy.
Double base powders are always going to give you more velocity than a similar burn rate single base.If we could mail powder I would send you the N140 I have left for free. It has pressured out before obtaining velocity that N540, Varget, IMR4895, TAC, AA2520, were all able to obtain.
I agree, but compared to similar burn rates of single based powders N140 still dogs behind.Double base powders are always going to give you more velocity than a similar burn rate single base.
