On November 10, 1775, the Continental Congress passed a resolution stating that "two battalions of Marines be raised" for service as landing forces with the fleet. This established the Continental Marines and marked the birth of the United States Marine Corps.

Our first recruiting office was Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, PA

Our first amphibious operation was in March 1776

We fight our countries battles in the air, on land, and sea

On the 7th day God rested, we over ran his perimeter and have been guarding the gates of heaven ever since

The next time you see a Marine, shake their hand and buy them a beer, they've earned it.

Happy Birthday!

We had the new commandant (Gen Amos) at our birthday ball last Thurs. He said that he never liked the term "Former Marine" and now that he gets to make policy, as of a couple weeks ago their is no such thing as "former Marine" there's only Marines. Once a Marine, Always a Marine.
