Handgun Hunter’s Competition 2025

For clarification, any Encore cartridge such as the 30-06 for example, isn't allowed? Only Contender and G2 cartridges? (with the exceptions of those listed for single shot as it pertains to the Nosler NCH)

For single shot….

Anything available for the TC G2/contender 6mm or above is fine and anything for the nosler NCH 6.5 and above.

The Mark Hampton TC award is a sub category within single shot division. limited to a TC contender,g2,encore, or clone chambered in anything that was every commercially available for the contender/g2 6mm or above.

Our rules are structured to eliminate equipment races…..on all aspects of gear.

In addition….worrying about super high bc, flat shooting, or anything else won't help you nearly as much as being proficient as building a solid field position at HHC.

So, if the cartridge is not available in the Contender/G2, it isn't allowed? Which means an Encore in any factory chambering except those available in the weaker Contender/G2 isn't allowed? As an example, an Encore in 260 Rem?

The rules don't make that clear neither does your explanation. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the rules more specifically.

Here it is in black and white right off the website.

The following chamberings are legal in single shot division:

Anything ever chambered for a Contender or G2 6mm or larger or the 6.5 Creedmoor, 7-08, 308 in ANY platform.

Some other chamberings have been allowed on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Match Director(me).

We added the "Nosler" rule a couple years ago since there were no other single shots being produced.

Yes we limit chamberings. This helps eliminate the equipment race. It also helps protect my personal $15,000+ investment in steel targets and equipment.
