I use Rock Creek barrels and have always liked their motto " Hit it with a Rock " !

now we can "Hit it with a Rock" and "Smash it with a Hammer " !

Steve,

Your 6.5mm 125 grainers arrived today. I think I will run them around 3,300 or even 3,400 feet per second. Will higher velocity affect the BC?

Glad to hear they got there. The G7 bc is not effected much by velocity. Put the .245 G7 into your calculator and run it. It should get you onto target. Make adjustments from there.

Would love to hear how it goes for you.

Steve,

The rifle I was going to use these in is sorta indisposed. I tried to find the hydro-form dies and am out of luck till that happens. The amount of problems with my shooting life is weighing on me.

You need to form brass before you can shoot? I always use the COW method.

Steve,

Found the die and formed some cases. The scope arrived today but there are no rings here yet. It is a new Pac-Nor 26" lighter than their normal light weight and then fluted. Without the scope and rings but with the sling and brake it weighs 5lb 7oz.

Should be nice to carry.

Thanks. I loaded eight to touch the lands starting at 61.0 grains and going to 68.0 grains of H4831. Now I need the Talleys.

They should shoot fine there. FWIW a few years ago I was running bullets touching the lands and while taking a shot at a mule deer of a life time I had a primer fail. On ejecting the round to try again the bullet stayed in the barrel and I dumped powder all in the chamber and magazine. and could not load a follower. This happened due to the impact of the firing pin impact sticking the bullet. I lost that buck.

Normally I start at the lands for the first ladder test and then take what looks like the best and check for over all length. I will back off .010" to start with.

Because of our drive band design you won't see any pressure increases, but with conventional bullets you can certainly see some big pressure spikes into the lands.

I no longer use that brand of primers or shoot bullets touching the lands.:)
