I have a pound of h870 that I'm wanting to use to load 338-378 wby. I can't find any data on it since it's no longer produced. The can has some 30-378 data on it but no 338-378. Anybody have an old hodgdon book or know of a starting point with either 265 barnes or 300 accubonds

I have shot 109 grains behind a 285 ELDM, and 300 gr Nosler Custom Compitition. No pressure. Weatherby Accumark 338-378.
God I love that gun!

I ran it on Quick load just now. It's showing a max at 112 gr H870 300 Gr Accubond@ 2820 fps. 26" barrel and 3.700 OACL.

115 grain max, @ 2981 fps. 265 gr Barnes LRX.

I never did try to work up from 109 gr with the 300 gr bullets. I did not get the accuracy that I wanted, but later figured out I had a scope mount problem. Imagine that. Have not tried the load since, although I have a bunch of H870.

H 870=== us869,
I don't recall where I learned that but I believe it was from hodgen. They made a few changes to make it more temp stable and renamed it. As always start low and work up.

thanks a bunch, I've got an unopened pound of it and figured I'd try it out with not being able to find any us869
