Just a heads up, 8 lb containers of H4350 currently in stock at Midway... gonna go fast, so get it quick! gun)

That was quick. I think Powder valley had it in stock for maybe 3 minutes.

H4350 is certainly one of the popular all-around powders. A friend of mine that lives in a different state has been waiting to get some for over a year and was not near a computer when it was in stock this morning... Too bad for him.

Tell me about it. It's the only powder that I'm desperately in need of.* I hit powder valley this morning and there was nothing. About 3 minutes later, I get an IM from a friend telling me that they have it. I get back on and they have both 1 and 8 lb-ers in stock. I add a 8 lb-er to the cart and go to check out..... And they're out. It just ain't right.

It's definitely getting better though.

*if you ignore Clays which is a whole other issue not panic related.

I don't reload for shotguns, but I've been getting e-mails through my gunclub of guys desperately looking for WSF. What's that shortage caused from ... are the manufacturers just ramped up to produce the rifle powders???

Clays- I hope it's not from prepers/hoarders loading it in subsonic .308 loads?r

The issue with Clays, Universal Clays, and International Clays is a fire at the ADI plant that produces them in Australia. The fire was in January of 2013, IIRC. It only affected the production of those three powders and they're supposed to be showing up again by the end of the year. I've got 2 lbs of Clays left, but if I start loading for shotshell again like I had been, that will last about a month.

I am not seeing any shotgun powder. My local dealers say the shotgun powders dried up six months ago. Lots of loaded shells, they think all of the shotgun powder is going there.

I miss Clays as well. I had heard that the Australian government is giving the manufacturer of Clays a hard time rebuilding the machine that was damaged or destroyed. Not sure this is true, not sure what is true anymore.

The local Cabelas had a shelf full of H4350 the other day. Keep checking those retail stores if one is close. I didn't need any so left it on the shelf.

For the Colorado guys in need of Clays. I have a large container I am not using if anyone is interested.

There's a little IMR 4350 on the shelves in certain place where I live....I use RL-22 and found a supply back around the first of the year....Bought several pounds, I'm set for a while...

They aren't even ramped up for that. They refuse to believe that there is a real, long-term rise in demand, and thus are unwilling to make the capital investments required to produce more. Meanwhile, back at the ranch (Ponderosa, that is), the ammo manufacturers have increased production, sucking down all the available powder (since their contracts have primacy with the factories), and we scum get to race to PVinc for the dregs (which are gone in seconds).

This last weekend at the gun show, a fellow had 4 pounds of H4350. He sold me all 4 cans for $80 and they were all from the same lot. Of course I bought a few other things off his table.
