Looking to purchase a pound of H4198 local to central Indiana if someone has a pound they can spare. I picked up a Remington Heavy barrel 222 but the only powder I really have for it is a partial BLC2. BLC2 doesn't seem to produce much speed.

PP Varmint, Benchmark, H322, Imr4198, N133, AA2200, AA2230/Exterminator, LT30/32, RL7, RL10x, H335 are all good choices. I never could get what I wanted with H4198, but Imr4198 gives me 3605fps with 40grn Nosler BTs, in Starline brass, with Fed205Ms. Typically shoots .2-.5 and the SD stays between 5 and 9, depending on conditions. Good luck.

Great advise! 4198 is difficult to impossible to find. N130, LT30, R#7, are great choices.

One of Walt Bergers secrets was H335 in his 222 that he sat records with, he offered me the balance of the 20 lb keg after he went to the 6 PPC. Incredible speed with accuracy with H335.

I have a lot of powders, but they are for larger caliber. I have plenty of RL26, Varget, PP2000, H4350 and VV powders.

Whatever you try, please treat yourself to some H335 with Rem 7 1/2, you will not believe the speed and accuracy! Not to mention the longer barrel life! We shot untold thousands of these rounds at P. dogs and ground squirrels.

Find pressure, back off .5g, adjust seating depth to a bug hole.
